Just as important as owning the proper EDC gear and equipment is having a way to protect and store it properly. Both to keep it all in one place and to also make it easy to access.

I did a lot of searching online including YouTube, Amazon, and Google, looking for something that would fit my needs best without breaking the bank. As I’m sure you know, there is an enormous amount of options out there. The box I eventually chose was one that was simple in design, would hold what I needed quickly accessible, and have a nice look to it.

To that end I found on Amazon the Rothwell watch/edc boxes shown. I first purchased the larger one and quickly outgrew it so I added the second, smaller box as well. While I love EDC gear I only keep readily accessible what I’m most likely going to grab each day. I also didn’t want something that would take up to much space. For all my overflow I have several safes and locking cabinets that I can keep that overflow in. The larger box was a little over $100 at the time of purchase and the smaller box was about $60 when I bought it.

The boxes do have a locking feature that uses a small, handcuff-type key. (Although it looks like a handcuff key, an actual handcuff key won’t work.) It does a decent job locking the top lid to the watches but for some reason, it does not lock the drawer. That’s the one major fault, why they wouldn’t have designed it to lock both is beyond me, it would not have been difficult to do with their current design. Now obviously any thief would just grab the box and take it with them so it won’t keep them out. It’s good for keeping little, i.e. kid’s, hands out of it and from dropping or losing one of your watches when they aren’t being supervised.

Each day I will pick out a watch that best suits me for that day, a knife, a pen, and a handkerchief. Based on my plans I may also grab a flashlight and a lighter with a cigar cutter. My normal CCW is my GLOCK 43 MOS with the RMRcc optic and TLR-7Sub weapon light. (GLOCK 43X MOS) But when I only need to run to the gas station, or a store to pick up a single item, or to go for a jog, then I’ll take the Ruger LCP Max (Ruger LCP Max) that’s kept in the bottom drawer.

Overall I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the boxes compared to their cost and highly recommend the Rothwell watch boxes.

Stay safe, be kind, and help those in need.
